  Government - Hiram Township

Hiram Township was established in 1817 in the Northwest corner of Portage County, Ohio as a 25 square mile tract of land. It is bordered by the townships of Troy, Nelson, Mantua, Freedom and the village of Garrettsville.

  Government - Portage County, Ohio

The General Assembly created Portage County on June 9, 1808. Located in Northeast Ohio approximately 30 miles south of Cleveland and on the western borders of Trumbull and Mahoning Counties and on the eastern border of Summit County, it covers an area of approximately 504 square miles. The County’s 2016 population of 161,419 placed it as the 15th most populated of the State’s 88 counties.

  Hiram College

Hiram is a coeducational liberal arts college of 1,100+ men and women located in the historic Western Reserve region of Ohio.
 
Hiram is a nationally respected institution that offers students a distinct learning environment with an emphasis on close student-faculty interactions, international study experiences, and experiential learning environments. The College was awarded a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s premier undergraduate honor society, in 1971.

  Portage County Regional Planning Commission

The Portage County Regional Planning Commission (RPC) is a public planning agency that provides a wide range of planning services to Portage County communities and citizens. The Commission is made up of representatives appointed by dues-paying members from political units of the County.

  Portage Park District

The Portage Park District is an independent political subdivision of the State of Ohio formed in 1991 with its jurisdiction covering all of Portage County. Our mission is to conserve Portage County’s natural heritage and provide opportunities for its appreciation and enjoyment.
